A little preparation goes a long way toward making your piercing smooth, safe, and stress-free. At Skin City Tattoo & Body Piercing in Tigard, our professional piercers want you to feel comfortable, confident, and fully informed before your appointment. Whether this is your first piercing or your tenth, following a few simple steps will help your body stay calm and heal beautifully.
Preparing for Your Piercing at Skin City Tigard
Before Your Appointment
Make sure to eat a full meal and stay hydrated — low blood sugar can make you feel light-headed during your piercing. Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications for at least 24 hours before your visit. Get a solid night’s sleep so your body is well-rested and ready to heal.
Wear clothing that allows easy access to the area you’re getting pierced, and remember to bring valid identification. If you’re under 18, a parent or legal guardian will need to accompany you with proper documentation (see below).
Piercing appointments at Skin City are designed to be relaxed and supportive. Your piercer will walk you through jewelry options, placement, and what to expect from start to finish.
